Greg Heislman holds degrees from the University of Akron (B.S. in music education) and Cleveland State University (M.Mus in choral studies). In 1982, after a four year music teaching engagement at St. Ignatius High School, Cleveland OH, Greg assumed the position of associate organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. As a staff member of the Roman Catholic Diocese Office for Worship, he was later appointed to the position of Diocesan Consultant on Music. Since 1992, Greg has held the position of Music Director at the Cathedral of St. John, where his responsibilities include: overseeing a staff of associate organist, cantors, paid choristers, volunteer choristers; planning and providing music for Sunday & weekday liturgies, weddings & funerals; planning & coordinating the Helen D Schubert Concert series, an annual series of 6 free-will events; producing & directing choral CDs; coordinating music for all Diocesan events.
