John McElliott, countertenor, is a native of Akron Ohio and holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Organ Performance from the University of Akron.  He additionally served as a choral scholar for one year at Winchester Cathedral in the UK.

A devoted choral singer; in addition to his work with Contrapunctus, Mr. McElliott also appears regularly with Quire Cleveland, Apollo’s Singers (the choral arm of Apollo’s Fire), and Trinity Chamber Singers. He has also been a soloist with many Northeast Ohio ensembles including Apollo’s Fire and The Cleveland Orchestra. 

As president of Karen McFarlane Artists, Inc. (the premier artist management agency for concert organists in North America since 1921) Mr. McElliott manages the North American engagements of more than thirty-five of the world’s finest concert organists as well as select choirs in the English Choral Tradition.

Mr. McElliott lives in Solon, OH with his wife and son.
